Production Supervisor – South Texas
Location: Batesville, TX (South Texas Eagle Ford field office)
Industry: Onshore Oil & Gas Operations
Position Overview
The Production Supervisor oversees daily oilfield operations and ensures safe, efficient, and cost‑effective management of producing assets. This role provides leadership to field personnel, drives operational excellence, and supports continuous improvement across production activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a strong safety culture, ensuring all activities comply with HSE policies and regulatory requirements.
- Enforce Safe Work Permits, Job Safety Analysis, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Direct daily field operations to maintain optimal production rates and equipment reliability.
- Mentor and train field staff in all aspects of production operations.
- Identify and implement corrective actions for production declines or equipment failures.
- Collaborate with management and engineering teams to optimize field performance.
- Oversee chemical treatment programs for assigned assets.
- Review and process invoices promptly.
- Monitor OPEX and capital spending; assist with annual budget preparation.
- Approve time reports for direct reports and submit accurate expense documentation.
- Provide operational and production reports to management and regulatory teams.
- Evaluate and adopt new technologies or practices to improve operational efficiency.
- Provide relief coverage for the Production Manager as needed.
- Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education & Knowledge
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong working knowledge of oil and gas safety standards and production operations.
Experience
- 10+ years of oil and gas field operations experience preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience required.
- Hands‑on experience with artificial lift systems, including rod pump and jet pump operations.
- Experience in the Eagle Ford basin preferred.
Competencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
- Effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work within budget constraints.
- Capability to train and develop direct reports.
- Solid understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
- Basic computer proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with well data/lease operating systems.
- Valid driver’s license required.
