Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and personable Sales Executive to help grow the customer base of our independent meat market. This role focuses on building relationships with local restaurants, caterers, grocery stores, and individual customers while promoting our high-quality meats and specialty products. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, understands the value of locally sourced products, and enjoys working closely with both customers and a small team.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and maintain relationships with local restaurants, catering companies, and food service businesses
· Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the community
· Promote the market’s products, including fresh cuts of meat, specialty items, and custom orders
· Coordinate with the butcher and operations team to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time
· Manage customer accounts, pricing discussions, and order logistics
· Monitor customer needs and recommend appropriate products or solutions
· Represent the market at local events, farmers markets, and community functions
· Track sales activity and maintain accurate records of customer interactions
· Provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive buying experience
· The ability to create and execute a business plan for ownership
Qualifications:
· 2+ years of sales experience, preferably in food service, grocery, or hospitality
· Knowledge of meat products, food service operations, or culinary industry preferred
· Strong relationship-building and communication skills
· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
· Comfortable working in a small business environment where roles may be flexible
· Basic computer skills for order management and communication
Preferred Skills:
· Existing relationships with local restaurants, groceries,
· Understanding of wholesale food pricing and margins
· Passion for quality food and locally sourced products
