Now Hiring: Chief Maintenance Engineer

Detroit Metro, MI | Full-Time

Full-Service Hotel | Banquet Facility | On-Site Dining

We are seeking a hands-on Chief Engineer to lead all engineering and maintenance operations for a full-service hotel environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the property is safe, well-maintained, and operating efficiently while leading and developing a small team.

Compensation & Benefits for Chief Maintenance Engineer

·      $75,000–$85,000 base salary

What You’ll Do as Chief Maintenance Engineer

  • Lead and manage a team of 4–5 maintenance team members
  • Oversee all day-to-day maintenance operations for a 226-room full-service hotel
  • Ensure proper functioning of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems
  • Perform and delegate general repairs, including drywall, flooring, and wall repairs
  • Implement and manage a preventative maintenance program to protect property assets
  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repair needs
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, building, and brand standards
  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate outside contractors
  • Monitor maintenance budgets, supplies, and inventory
  • Partner with hotel leadership to support overall guest experience and operations

What You Bring as Chief Maintenance Engineer

  • Proven experience in hotel maintenance or facilities leadership
  • 2-3 years of experience
  • Strong hands-on skills in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems
  • Experience leading and developing small teams
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and building systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and effectively
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment
