Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5–7+ years of maritime or shipyard electrical engineering experience
• Minimum 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity
• Strong knowledge of shipboard electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, automation, communications)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical; familiarity with ShipConstructor or similar tools
• Experience working with ABS, USCG, and other regulatory standards
• Ability to interpret and apply marine compliance regulations
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Must Haves:

• Lead design reviews and approve electrical schematics for new vessel builds and refits
• Coordinate closely with naval architects and mechanical teams to ensure seamless system integration
• Oversee real-time troubleshooting of electrical issues during vessel construction and commissioning
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across electrical design and production workflows
• Manage engineering priorities across multiple vessel projects while maintaining strict timelines
• Mentor and develop junior engineers, ensuring technical growth and team performance
• Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with maritime standards and safety protocols
• Interface directly with production teams to resolve field discrepancies and design challenges

Preferred Background & Skills:

• Experience with PLC programming and power management systems
• Background in integrating advanced shipboard technologies
• Familiarity with shipyard production processes and safety environments
• Experience managing multiple large-scale engineering projects simultaneously
• Strong documentation and process standardization skills
• Proven ability to implement engineering best practices in a production-driven setting
