Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5–7+ years of maritime or shipyard electrical engineering experience
- Minimum 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity
- Strong knowledge of shipboard electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, automation, communications)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical; familiarity with ShipConstructor or similar tools
- Experience working with ABS, USCG, and other regulatory standards
- Ability to interpret and apply marine compliance regulations
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Must Haves:
- Lead design reviews and approve electrical schematics for new vessel builds and refits
- Coordinate closely with naval architects and mechanical teams to ensure seamless system integration
- Oversee real-time troubleshooting of electrical issues during vessel construction and commissioning
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across electrical design and production workflows
- Manage engineering priorities across multiple vessel projects while maintaining strict timelines
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, ensuring technical growth and team performance
- Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with maritime standards and safety protocols
- Interface directly with production teams to resolve field discrepancies and design challenges
Preferred Background & Skills:
- Experience with PLC programming and power management systems
- Background in integrating advanced shipboard technologies
- Familiarity with shipyard production processes and safety environments
- Experience managing multiple large-scale engineering projects simultaneously
- Strong documentation and process standardization skills
- Proven ability to implement engineering best practices in a production-driven setting
