Pain Management Physician Assistant Requirements

Current Physician Assistant license in Arizona (or willing to acquire if expired)
Bachelor's Degree, related field such as biology, chemistry or health sciences
Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Pain management specific certifications preferred
Current DEA registration and continuing medical education (CME)
2+ years prior experience in pain management, orthopedics or neurosurgery
BLS, ACLS, PALS preferred
CME to maintain license
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Pain Management Physician Assistant Qualifications

Ability to diagnose and treat new and established patients independently under the supervision of a physician
Average 28-32 patients per day
Practice in accordance with the state’s laws, rules and regulations.
Experienced in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Keeps and maintains appropriate records relating to all professional services rendered
In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostics, and treatment protocols
Team player with a patient-centered approach
Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
