Project Engineer – Custom Architectural Features

Our client is seeking a Project Engineer to support a growing Banquet Seating and Custom Design Division focused on custom architectural features, specialty seating systems, and highly customized commercial interior projects.

This role combines shop drawings, project coordination, procurement, and construction support with a clear path into Project Management.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in architectural millwork, casework, commercial furniture, custom fabrication, specialty construction, hospitality interiors, or commercial interiors looking to grow their career in a unique niche of the construction industry.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare, coordinate, and manage shop drawings and submittal packages
  • Review architectural plans, specifications, and project requirements
  • Coordinate with CAD, production teams, vendors, and Project Managers
  • Track revisions, ASIs, bulletins, and project changes
  • Assist with procurement, material ordering, and lead time management
  • Support project schedules and installation coordination
  • Assist with change orders and scope reviews
  • Organize field installation documentation and project files
  • Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure projects remain on track
  • Support custom design-build projects involving wood, metal, glass, fabrics, and specialty finishes
  • Help develop practical solutions that meet both design intent and project budgets

Required Qualifications

  • Experience reading construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience with shop drawings and submittals
  • CAD experience required
  • Bluebeam experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Understanding of construction sequencing and material procurement
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Architectural millwork experience
  • Casework experience
  • Commercial interiors experience
  • Hospitality construction experience
  • Custom fabrication or manufacturing experience
  • Architectural metals or glazing experience
  • Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) experience
  • Experience with Revit, Fusion 360, or SAGE 100
