Dermatology Nurse Practitioners (NP) or Physician Assistants (PA)
Medical Dermatology | Full-Time | NC
A growing dermatology practice serving a rural North Carolina community is seeking 10 Nurse Practitioners (NP) or Physician Assistants (PA) with experience in medical dermatology to join its collaborative clinical team.
This role offers the opportunity to build meaningful patient relationships while providing essential dermatologic care in a community where access to specialty services is highly valued. The practice emphasizes evidence-based care, patient education, and long-term continuity of care.
Compensation
💰 Salary: $160,000
Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, PTO, CME support, malpractice coverage, and retirement plan options.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will diagnose and manage a wide range of dermatologic conditions while working collaboratively with supervising physicians.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform comprehensive dermatologic evaluations and full-body skin exams
- Diagnose and treat common and chronic skin conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, dermatitis, fungal infections, and rashes
- Identify and manage precancerous and cancerous lesions (AK, BCC, SCC, melanoma)
- Perform dermatologic procedures such as:
- Shave, punch, and excisional biopsies
- Cryotherapy
- Lesion removal
- Wound care and post-procedure follow-up
- Review dermatopathology results and diagnostic tests
- Develop treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Prescribe medications and therapies within scope of licensure
- Provide patient education on skin health and disease prevention
- Maintain accurate documentation within the EMR
- Adhere to clinical, regulatory, and HIPAA standards
Qualifications
Required
- Master’s degree from an accredited NP or PA program
- Active North Carolina NP or PA license
- National certification (AANP/ANCC or NCCPA)
- Minimum 1 year of dermatology experience
- Strong diagnostic and procedural skills
- Excellent communication and patient education abilities
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
Preferred
- Dermatology certification (DCNP or equivalent) or willingness to pursue
- Experience performing dermatologic procedures (biopsies, cryotherapy, lesion removal)
- Familiarity with dermatoscopy and EMR systems
- Interest in serving rural communities and improving access to specialty care
