A high-volume, fast-paced restaurant is seeking an experienced Head Kitchen Manager to lead all back-of-house operations and ensure consistent execution across every shift. This role requires a hands-on kitchen leader who can drive standards, manage people, and maintain control of food quality, costs, and safety. The ideal candidate brings strong operational discipline, clear communication, and the ability to lead a kitchen team with confidence and consistency.

Head Kitchen Manager Requirements and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of back-of-house leadership experience, leading a high volume kitchen staff
  • Proven ability to oversee daily kitchen operations, prep systems, line execution, and sanitation standards in a scratch kitchen environment
  • Strong experience with scheduling, labor management, food cost control, and inventory
  • Solid knowledge of food safety, health department compliance, and cleanliness standards
  • Ability to lead, train, and hold kitchen staff accountable
  • Hands-on leadership style with the ability to work the line as needed

Head Kitchen Manager Preferred Background and Skills

  • Experience in high-volume casual or Tex-Mex–style restaurant concepts
  • Track record of improving kitchen consistency, speed, and food quality
  • Strong vendor and ordering management experience
  • NRO experience
