About the Company

Our client is an established, publicly traded commercial real estate investment organization specializing in the acquisition, development, and management of commercial properties throughout North America and Europe.

With a substantial portfolio focused primarily on industrial, warehouse, and retail properties, the organization partners with businesses to provide real estate solutions that support their long-term operational and strategic objectives.

The company fosters a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment where employees are encouraged to take initiative, develop professionally, and contribute beyond their defined responsibilities.

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a Construction & Development Manager to join its growing Asset Management team in New York. This is an exciting opportunity for a construction and development professional to take meaningful ownership of a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate projects, with a strong emphasis on industrial development.

Working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, you will be involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial site evaluation and pre-development through entitlements, design, construction, and final project delivery.

The ideal candidate brings a strong construction background combined with experience in pre-development, due diligence, permitting, and entitlement processes. Experience with industrial development is highly desirable. Candidates coming from established industrial design-build general contractors will also be considered, particularly those who have worked closely with owners, developers, architects, engineers, and outside consultants during the early stages of development.

This position offers the opportunity to work on substantial development initiatives, manage multiple projects, and build a long-term career within an established real estate investment organization.

What We're Looking For

  • Approximately 3–5 years of experience in construction management, industrial development, or commercial real estate development.
  • Strong construction project management experience, ideally involving industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution facilities.
  • Meaningful exposure to pre-development activities, including site due diligence, feasibility, zoning, permitting, and entitlements.
  • Experience coordinating architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Understanding of construction budgets, schedules, contracts, and project cost management.
  • Ability to take ownership of projects, manage competing priorities, and work independently.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working for an industrial real estate developer, property owner, or industrial design-build general contractor.
  • Familiarity with Procore, Microsoft Project, LandVision, and Salesforce.
  • Experience coordinating entitlement and municipal approval processes through consultants and outside professionals.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary $120,000 to $150,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Annual bonus opportunity up to $25,000.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage- 100% company-paid
  • Premium-free medical plan option.
  • Up to 15 days of PTO annually for new hires.
  • Up to 10 sick days annually.
  • 401(k) and company profit-sharing contribution.
  • $2,000 annual lifestyle spending account.
  • $2,000 annual employee benefit fund.
  • Paid company holidays.
  • Additional family, wellness, professional development, and employee assistance benefits.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a growing real estate investment and development team, gain exposure to significant commercial and industrial development projects, and take on increasing responsibility as your career progresses.

If you're a construction professional looking to expand your experience into commercial real estate development and take the next step in your career, we'd welcome the opportunity to connect.
