CNC Machine Setup Technician – Plymouth, MI
1st Shift | 5:00 AM–1:30 PM | $19-22/hr.
Are you mechanically inclined, experienced in manufacturing, and interested in learning specialized CNC equipment and robotic automation? We're hiring a CNC Machine Setup Technician in Plymouth, MI, for a first-shift opportunity with hands-on training, technical development, and long-term growth potential.
Experience with CNC wire-forming equipment is a plus, but not required. We're looking for someone with solid mechanical skills, manufacturing experience, and the ability to learn new technology.
CNC Machine Setup Technician Compensation & Benefits
- $19-22/hr. based on experience and technical skills
- First shift: 5:00 AM–1:30 PM

CNC Machine Setup Technician Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and operate CNC wire-forming and spring-coiling equipment
- Perform tooling changes, mechanical adjustments, and machine setups
- Learn to edit and troubleshoot CNC programs
- Support robotic automation cells and learn robot programming
- Inspect finished components using micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues, tooling wear, and machine errors
- Maintain quality standards and minimize production downtime
CNC Machine Setup Technician Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of manufacturing experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills
- Experience with machine setups, tooling adjustments, or automated equipment
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards
- Willingness to learn CNC programming and robotic automation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
Preferred Experience
- CNC machine setup and operation
- Wire bending, wire forming, or spring-coiling equipment
- Industrial robotics, particularly FANUC
- CNC programming or program editing
- Precision measuring equipment and quality inspection
