Restaurant Equipment Technician Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of commercial restaurant equipment repair experience preferred
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities
• Familiarity with ovens, fryers, grills, ice machines, refrigeration units, dishwashers, and related equipment
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Capable of lifting equipment/components and working in tight or hot environments

Restaurant Equipment Technician Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair commercial cooking, refrigeration, HVAC, and foodservice equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and detailed inspections to uphold safety standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and refrigeration issues
• Install and commission new restaurant equipment efficiently
• Respond to service calls, minimizing equipment downtime for clients
• Keep accurate service records and communicate effectively with management and customers
• Ensure all work follows OSHA and industry safety requirements while maintaining professional relationships
