Lead Line Cook

A respected hospitality group is seeking a skilled lead line cook to join their culinary team, known for serving high-end executive clientele and hosting large events. This role offers the opportunity to impact food quality, mentor junior staff, and grow into higher-level kitchen positions.

Lead Line Cook Benefits & Compensation

Lead Line Cook Requirements & Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of professional kitchen experience preferred
  • Experience as a lead line cook, sous chef, senior line cook, or similar role a plus
  • Strong knowledge of line cooking, food prep, and kitchen operations
  • Proven ability to lead and direct a kitchen team while remaining hands-on
  • Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation best practices
  • Ability to read and follow recipes and production specifications
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Able to stand for extended periods and work in a hot kitchen environment
  • ServSafe certification preferred or ability to obtain

Lead Line Cook Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience in high-volume hotels, banquets, or conference/event catering
  • Calm, organized approach during busy service periods

Lead Line Cook Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Supervise the cooking line, ensuring fast and accurate ticket output during service
  • Lead by example, monitoring food quality, presentation, and portioning
  • Coordinate the expo window to guarantee every order meets restaurant standards
  • Organize, maintain, and communicate prep needs and inventory levels
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members
  • Uphold health code compliance by ensuring all work areas and equipment are clean and safe
  • Collaborate smoothly with servers, kitchen staff, and chef/kitchen manager
  • Participate in opening and closing kitchen procedures
