We are seeking an experienced newspaper operations leader to oversee a large, multi-market portfolio of community publications across Texas. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a proactive, solutions-focused executive who can unify operations, lead through change, and serve as a trusted presence across the organization and the communities it serves.

General Manager Requirements & Qualifications:

• 5+ years of leadership experience within the newspaper industry
• Must reside in Texas, preferably Austin/Central Texas
• Experience overseeing multiple newspaper publications, markets, departments, and teams
• Broad knowledge of newspaper operations, including editorial, production, design, circulation, and administration
• Experience leading acquisitions, integrations, consolidations, or significant organizational change
• Ability to manage deadline-driven operations and ensure publications remain on schedule
• Proven ability to identify operational issues, implement solutions, and improve efficiency
• Strong people leadership with experience developing managers and leading teams through change

General Manager Preferred Background & Skills:

• Multi-market or community newspaper leadership experience
• Proactive, self-directed, solutions-focused leadership style
• Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage ambiguity, difficult conversations, and organizational change
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
• Polished and credible when representing the organization within local communities
