Restaurant General Manager – Washington DC

An established, high-volume upscale restaurant and bar is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a flagship operation known for exceptional hospitality, strong financial performance, and a vibrant dining atmosphere. This is an outstanding opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and enjoys developing high-performing teams while delivering elevated guest experiences.

This position is ideal for a hospitality professional with proven success overseeing large-scale restaurant operations, driving profitability, and maintaining uncompromising service standards.

The Role

  • Direct all front-of-house operations with a focus on hospitality excellence, execution, and consistency
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a large management team and hourly workforce
  • Establish and maintain exceptional guest service standards across lunch, dinner, brunch, bar, and late-night operations
  • Drive financial performance through disciplined labor management, forecasting, scheduling, and cost controls
  • Oversee hiring, training, coaching, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Partner closely with culinary leadership to ensure seamless execution and alignment between front- and back-of-house teams
  • Create a culture of accountability, professionalism, and hospitality-driven leadership
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, sanitation, and operational standards
  • Analyze operational metrics and implement strategies that improve guest satisfaction, employee retention, and profitability

The Ideal Candidate

  • 3+ years of experience as a General Manager in a large-scale, upscale restaurant environment
  • Demonstrated success leading operations generating more than $7 million in annual revenue
  • Experience managing restaurants with 500+ seats and teams of 100+ employees
  • Strong background overseeing high-volume bar, dining, and late-night service operations
  • Proven ability to maintain elevated service standards in a fast-paced, complex environment
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L performance, labor costs, budgets, forecasting, and operational controls
  • Skilled in team development, performance management, and building a culture of accountability
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Hands-on, visible leadership style with the ability to thrive under pressure
