Sales Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience in aerospace, defense, or military procurement sales, or related technical sector
- Deep understanding of customer needs within defense system companies, aerospace engineering organizations, or military procurement programs
- Strong relationship-building skills and ability to foster customer loyalty
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies
Sales Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Prior experience transitioning from a technical or operational role into sales
- Familiarity with complex technical solution selling
- Ability to analyze market trends and identify competitive opportunities
Sales Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Cultivate and maintain long-term client relationships across the aerospace, defense, and military procurement sectors
- Design, implement, and manage a strategic business plan to grow the company’s customer base
- Meet or exceed sales targets by identifying new program opportunities and securing contracts
- Monitor emerging markets, new products, and industry competition
- Prepare and present accurate sales, revenue, and expense forecasts to management
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by leadership
