Executive Sous Chef – High-Profile Midtown Hotel | New York City, NY

A prestigious, high-profile hotel in Midtown Manhattan is seeking an experienced Executive Sous Chef with a strong background in Asian Fusion cuisine to join its culinary leadership team.

This role is ideal for a hands-on culinary leader who thrives in elevated, fast-paced hotel environments and has experience overseeing multiple outlets, banquets, and high-level guest experiences. The Executive Sous Chef will partner closely with the Executive Chef to lead daily kitchen operations while maintaining exceptional culinary standards, team development, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily culinary operations across restaurant outlets, banquets, and in-room dining
  • Lead, train, and develop a diverse culinary team while maintaining high execution standards
  • Support menu development and culinary innovation with a strong focus on Asian Fusion cuisine
  • Ensure consistency in flavor, presentation, quality, and kitchen efficiency
  • Manage food cost, labor cost, inventory, and overall kitchen financial performance
  • Maintain all health, sanitation, and safety standards
  • Partner with front-of-house leadership to ensure a seamless guest experience
  • Act as a key operational leader in support of the Executive Chef

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive culinary leadership experience
  • At least 2 years as an Executive Sous Chef in a luxury hotel or high-volume upscale environment
  • Strong Asian Fusion culinary background is required
  • Proven experience with banquet operations and multi-outlet kitchens
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and financial management skills
  • Hands-on leadership style with a passion for hospitality and culinary excellence
  • Luxury hotel experience strongly preferred
