Design Engineer, Mechanical – EV Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
  • 5 years of engineering experience, including 2 years focused on EV powertrain integration
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MATLAB, or similar engineering tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent technical communication, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident required

Design Engineer, Mechanical – EV Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and refine detailed design models and technical drawings
  • Produce documentation to define mechanical system and component specifications
  • Apply FMVSS, state, and customer requirements to all design decisions
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive technical feedback
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design and performance issues in partnership with the team
  • Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and product teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability
  • Stay up to date with the latest EV technology trends, materials, and manufacturing processes
