Private Educator/Teacher

A private family is seeking a dedicated private educator to create and deliver an engaging homeschool curriculum for two children ages 10 and 13. This is a unique opportunity to join a supportive home-based learning environment, with the flexibility to develop customized educational experiences and contribute to each child’s growth. You'll enjoy autonomy in structuring your day and the chance to influence a tailored academic journey.

Private Educator Benefits & Compensation

  • Competitive salary ($75,000 – $95,000, based on experience and credentials)
  • Flexible employment structure (W-2 or 1099, as preferred)
  • Approximately 40 hours per week
  • Three weeks paid time off annually, plus additional time aligned with family travel
  • Educational and activity-related expenses covered

Private Educator Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field preferred
  • Experience in homeschool, private education, tutoring, or individualized learning environments
  • Background in reading literacy a benefit
  • Experience supporting dyslexia or other learning differences preferred
  • Strong curriculum design and lesson-planning skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to transport children for educational activities
  • Ability to travel with family when possible

Private Educator Preferred Background & Skills

  • STEM and creative or artistic curriculum development experience
  • Comfortable traveling occasionally, or preparing remote-learning plans
  • Strong communication with parents and ability to adapt to feedback

Private Educator Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Design and lead an individualized homeschool curriculum for two children
  • Provide daily instruction across core academic subjects and support creative pursuits
  • Incorporate effective learning strategies for a child with dyslexia
  • Prepare lesson plans, materials, and engaging resources
  • Facilitate educational outings and enrichment activities as appropriate
  • Communicate regularly with parents to review progress and adapt the curriculum
  • Schedule is Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm
