Bar Manager Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of bar management experience in a high-volume venue
  • Ability to create new and seasonal cocktails, and experience with "batching"
  • Knowledge about whiskey
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control and bar costing
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Must Haves:

  • Ability to create weekly staff schedules that balance labor targets and team needs
  • Comfortable conducting and overseeing regular bar inventory counts
  • Proactively manage vendor relationships and liquor orders
  • Hands-on support during service—leading from the floor, not behind a desk
  • Collaborate with events or marketing teams on drink specials and seasonal menus
  • Handle guest issues swiftly to ensure a positive experience

Bar Manager Preferred Background & Skills:

  • Experience with POS systems and bar management software (e.g., BevSpot, Toast)
  • Knowledge of current mixology trends and cocktail innovation
  • Prior experience opening managing beverage programs
  • Passion for staff training and implementing service standards
  • Hospitality or business management education
