Assistant General Manager – Scratch Kitchen | High-Volume Coastal Tex-Mex
We're looking for an energetic Assistant General Manager to help lead one of the area's busiest scratch-kitchen restaurants. This is an ideal opportunity for a hospitality leader who enjoys building great teams, thrives in high-volume environments, and leads from the floor. You'll partner closely with the General Manager to create an engaging guest experience while helping establish the culture and operational excellence of a vibrant, beach-inspired Tex-Mex concept.
Assistant General Manager Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager with all aspects of daily restaurant operations while maintaining an active presence on the floor
- Lead, coach, and develop both front-of-house and back-of-house teams through hiring, training, scheduling, and ongoing performance management
- Create a fun, energetic culture while delivering exceptional hospitality and memorable guest experiences
- Maintain high standards for food quality, service execution, cleanliness, and overall restaurant presentation
- Monitor labor, food cost, inventory, and controllable expenses to achieve operational and financial goals
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and company operating standards
- Assist with new restaurant openings, team training, and implementation of operational systems and procedures
- Partner with the management team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational excellence
Assistant General Manager Requirements
- Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager, Restaurant Manager, or comparable leadership role
- Success leading high-volume, full-service restaurants with a strong focus on hospitality
- Experience in scratch-kitchen, chef-driven, or independent restaurant concepts preferred
- Passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams
- Strong understanding of labor management, inventory controls, and restaurant financial performance
- Comfort working in fast-paced environments where adaptability and hands-on leadership are essential
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands
