Food Manufacturing Production Manager

A growing food manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations at its Stone Mountain, Georgia facility. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an operationally focused manager who enjoys developing people, improving production processes, and creating a culture built on safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate has a proven background leading food manufacturing operations, managing supervisors and hourly teams, driving production performance, and maintaining compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.

What You'll Do
- Lead all daily production and manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals.
- Manage, coach, and develop Production Supervisors and hourly production associates.
- Oversee production scheduling, staffing, workflow, and labor utilization.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve efficiency, quality, and overall plant performance.
- Build a culture of accountability, employee engagement, teamwork, and operational excellence.
- Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, and Human Resources to ensure smooth plant operations.
- Monitor production KPIs, labor costs, downtime, scrap, and operational performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety regulations, sanitation standards, HACCP programs, and company policies.
- Review production and quality reports, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.
- Lead employee development through coaching, training, performance management, and succession planning.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of leadership experience in food manufacturing.
- Experience managing production operations in a food manufacturing or food processing facility.
- Proven experience leading supervisors and large hourly production teams.
- Strong knowledge of GMPs, food safety, sanitation, HACCP, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience managing production schedules, labor planning, productivity, and operational performance.
- Strong leadership, communication, and employee development skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred
- Experience in shelf stable food manufacturing.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Experience using ERP systems and manufacturing performance metrics.
