We are seeking an Assistant Director of Finance for a legendary private club and hospitality destination near Montgomery, Texas. This leadership opportunity is ideal for an experienced finance professional who enjoys partnering with operational leaders while overseeing accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader who thrives in a service-focused environment and is ready to help drive financial performance and operational excellence.

Assistant Director of Finance Responsibilities:

  • Assist in leading all accounting and finance operations, including AP, AR, Payroll, General Ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Support month-end and year-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Partner with department leaders to provide financial guidance and improve operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, tax regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Serve as the Director of Finance's primary backup while mentoring and developing the accounting team.

Assistant Director of Finance Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, and be a current senior manager or assistant director. 
  • Must have a resort, hotel, or private club background.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience using ERP or hospitality accounting systems.

Preferred Background & Skills:

  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • Collaborative and positive leadership style. 
  • Previous management experience within a finance department.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent business acumen.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
