Fire Alarm Sales Representative
Detroit Metro, MI Area
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Sales Representative to drive growth within the Detroit market. This role is focused on developing and maintaining strong relationships with electrical contractors, identifying bid and spec opportunities, and growing engineered fire alarm projects throughout the region.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical understanding of commercial fire alarm systems, experience navigating plans and specifications, and the ability to develop business across multiple low-voltage and life safety platforms. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales professional who thrives on relationship building, technical selling, and creating long-term customer partnerships.

Key Responsibilities for Our Fire Alarm Sales Rep
- Develop and maintain relationships with electrical contractors, engineers, consultants, and end users throughout the Detroit market
- Identify, pursue, and secure bid and spec opportunities for commercial fire alarm projects
- Review plans, specifications, and project documents to identify opportunities and develop accurate proposals
- Perform takeoffs and assist with engineered system solutions
- Promote and sell fire alarm systems, upgrades, service agreements, and related solutions
- Work closely with internal operations, engineering, and project teams to ensure successful project execution
- Maintain awareness of upcoming projects and market activity within the assigned territory
- Support contractors throughout the bidding process and provide technical guidance when needed
- Track sales activity, opportunities, and forecasts within the company CRM systems
- Represent the company professionally at industry events, contractor meetings, and customer visits
Preferred Experience for our Fire Alarm Sales Rep
- Fire alarm sales experience within the commercial market
- Strong background in the bid and spec environment
- Experience with NOTIFIER and/or Potter fire alarm systems
- Existing relationships with electrical contractors in the Detroit market
- Experience reviewing plans, specifications, and performing takeoffs
- Understanding of engineered fire alarm system design and application
- Knowledge of NFPA codes and life safety systems
Additional Preferred Knowledge
Experience selling or supporting:
- Access Control Systems
- CCTV / Video Surveillance Systems
- Intrusion Detection Systems
- Sound / Mass Notification Systems
- Other low-voltage and integrated security solutions
