Sous Chef Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in an upscale or fine dining kitchen
Proven success in high-volume operations
Strong knowledge of menu planning, purchasing, and kitchen systems
Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and lead teams
Passion for food, creativity, and continuous improvement
Hands-on leadership style

Sous Chef Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Support the Executive Chef with all daily kitchen operations
Lead, train, and develop a large culinary team
Ensure consistent execution of high-quality, upscale dishes
Manage inventory, ordering, and food cost controls
Uphold the highest standards of sanitation and food safety
Foster a positive, team-oriented kitchen culture
