Position Overview

The Non-Ferrous Recovery Plant Manager will oversee all aspects of plant operations, ensuring the efficient recovery, processing, and shipment of non-ferrous materials. This role requires a strong leader with technical expertise in metals recovery, plant safety, and process optimization. The Plant Manager will be responsible for driving production performance, maintaining compliance with environmental and safety regulations, and developing a skilled team to meet operational and financial targets.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily operations of the non-ferrous recovery plant, including material processing, sorting, and shipment
  • Manage and develop plant staff, ensuring productivity, training, and safety compliance
  • Oversee plant maintenance, equipment reliability, and downtime reduction
  • Monitor production metrics and implement process improvements to maximize recovery rates and reduce waste
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards
  • Collaborate with commercial and logistics teams to coordinate material flow and shipments
  • Manage budgets, operating costs, and resource allocation to meet financial goals
  • Ensure quality control standards are met across all outbound materials
  • Prepare and deliver performance reports on production, efficiency, and safety
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence

Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years of experience in non-ferrous metals, recycling, or industrial plant operations
  • Strong knowledge of metals recovery processes, shredders, downstream systems, and related equipment
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to train, coach, and motivate teams
  • Solid track record of improving plant efficiency and achieving production goals
  • Strong safety and compliance background with knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in ERP, production reporting, and inventory management systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered
  • Ability to work in physically demanding plant environments
