We're looking for an experienced Manual Precision Grinder to join an established tool and die manufacturer where craftsmanship, attention to detail, and problem-solving are valued.

This is a hands-on position working with manual OD, ID, and surface grinders on custom tooling and precision components. You'll work on a variety of projects rather than repetitive production runs, with the opportunity to put your machining skills to work in a stable, team-oriented environment. This position is located in LaOtto, IN (46763).

Manual Precision Grinder Requirements & Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience operating manual precision grinding equipment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
• Experience using micrometers, indicators, and other precision measuring instruments
• Understanding of tight tolerances, surface finishes, and dimensional accuracy
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

Must Haves:

• Experience performing manual OD (outside diameter) and ID (inside diameter) grinding
• Experience operating manual surface grinders
• Ability to independently set up grinding machines, select appropriate grinding wheels, and make adjustments
• Experience inspecting finished components to verify dimensional accuracy and surface finish
• Ability to troubleshoot grinding issues, including taper, chatter, and dimensional inconsistencies

Manual Precision Grinder Preferred Background & Skills:

• Previous experience in a tool and die shop, precision machine shop, or custom tooling environment
• Experience grinding hardened tool steels and other specialty materials
• Familiarity with grinding wheel dressing, balancing, and maintenance
• Experience producing precision components for dies, fixtures, molds, or custom tooling
• Background in manual machining, including mills or lathes
• Ability to work independently on custom and low-volume projects

This position does not include relocation assistance. Candidates must live within commuting distance of LaOtto, IN 46763.
