Area Manager – New York City

Area Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of multi-unit restaurant or hospitality leadership experience, ideally overseeing 4–7+ locations
  • Experience in both full-service and fast-casual restaurant environments preferred
  • Proven ability to manage P&L, labor costs, and operational KPIs to drive sales growth and profitability
  • Demonstrated success in coaching, mentoring, and developing General Managers and leadership teams
  • Strong financial acumen, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for hospitality, guest engagement, and creating memorable experiences
  • Ability to travel regularly between locations throughout the New York City market

Area Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations across multiple café locations, ensuring consistent service, quality, and brand standards
  • Partner with General Managers to monitor financial performance, labor management, and operational KPIs
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue, improve margins, and maximize operational efficiency
  • Coach and mentor leadership teams to build a strong talent pipeline and promote internal career growth
  • Foster an inclusive, positive workplace culture that supports employee engagement and retention
  • Champion exceptional hospitality and implement initiatives to enhance guest satisfaction and loyalty
  • Maintain operational standards for cleanliness, presentation, food quality, and overall guest experience
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and accessibility regulations
