Warehouse Project Manager
We are looking for an experienced Warehouse expert (Warehouse Laison) that can re-organize a large existing and operating warehouse. This is a Contract position expecting to last approximately 6 months and will require a total of approximately 1000 to 1200 total hours with a pay rate range in the $60 to $70 per hour.
Warehouse Project Manager Responsibilities:
• Identify and flag obsolete, damaged, or unusable inventory and old machinery for disposition or write-off.
• Establish a physical organization structure — clearly marked zones, bins, shelving, and labelling — for all inventory categories.
• Remove or relocate non-inventory clutter and unused equipment to free up usable warehouse space.
• Design and implement a standardized inventory storage and labelling system across the warehouse.
• Develop SOPs for warehouse teams — covering receiving, put-away, picking, cycle counts, and general housekeeping — so processes are consistent across shifts and teams.
• Train on-ground warehouse staff on the new SOPs and drive adoption.
• Set up a recurring cycle-count and housekeeping cadence to sustain organization over time.
• Support the physical segregation of old (pre-subsidiary) inventory from new inventory billed to Imperial Auto USA.
• Assist Warehouse Associates and the Customer & SCM workstream in maintaining accurate, separate tracking of both inventory pools during the transition.
• Identify and drive quick wins to improve overall warehouse efficiency, safety, and space utilization.
• Recommend layout, equipment, process improvements beyond the initial clean-up.
• Partner with Warehouse Associates leadership to help sustain improvements after the engagement ends.
Warehouse Project Manager Qualifications and Benefits:
• Strong hands-on operational mindset — comfortable leading physical warehouse clean-up and reorganization from the ground up.
• Hourly rate of $60 to $70 per hour based on experience and knowledge.
• Schedule flexibility and great work life balance.
• This position could lead to a permanent role with a large international company.
• Working knowledge of warehouse management practices — layout design, inventory labelling/tagging systems, cycle counting.
• Familiarity with WMS or inventory tracking systems.
• Comfortable with Excel for inventory tracking and reporting.
• Clear communicator, able to train and align warehouse staff on new processes.
• Structured and methodical, with strong attention to detail.
• Resilient and comfortable working in a currently unstructured, messy environment.
• 4–8 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, or logistics, including hands-on warehouse set-up or turnaround experience.
• Prior experience cleaning up, reorganizing, or setting up SOPs for a warehouse operation strongly preferred.
• Experience in automotive, industrial, or distribution warehouse environments preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, though not required given the hands-on nature of the role.
