General Manager – Luxury Boutique Hotel & Executive Hospitality
Location: High Point, North Carolina
Base Salary: $130,000–$135,000
Bonus: 17% annual bonus potential

This position is located in High Point, North Carolina, and requires relocation to the area.
Are you an experienced luxury hotel leader who still loves hospitality but is looking for a more balanced alternative to the traditional 24/7 hotel GM lifestyle?
We are seeking an experienced Hotel General Manager to lead an intimate, low-room-count luxury boutique hotel and executive hospitality operation within a nationally recognized university community.
This is not a traditional high-volume transient hotel. The property serves a more select guest population that includes university leadership, VIP visitors, executives, speakers, entertainers, prospective students and families, athletic programs, conference attendees, and special-event guests. The smaller scale of the property allows the General Manager to focus on personalized hospitality, leadership, guest relationships, financial performance, and exceptional attention to detail rather than managing the volume of a large hotel.
The position also offers an uncommon quality-of-life opportunity within hotel leadership. The normal schedule is predominantly Monday through Friday, with operations and activity influenced by the university's academic calendar. Major events, VIP visits, conferences, and university functions will occasionally require evening or weekend involvement.
The property is also undergoing approximately $20 million in renovations, creating an exciting opportunity for the incoming GM to help shape its next chapter.
What You'll Lead
- Overall hotel operations and luxury guest experience
- Department heads and property leadership team
- P&L, budgeting, forecasting, labor, and cost controls
- Food & beverage, conferences, events, and VIP hospitality
- Relationships with senior client and university stakeholders
- Service standards, team development, and operational improvement
- Renovation and long-term property initiatives
What We're Looking For
This is not a first-time General Manager opportunity. Ideal candidates will bring:
- Current or recent GM experience within a luxury, upper-upscale, boutique, lifestyle, resort, or full-service hotel
- Strong P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and labor-management experience
- Proven success leading department heads and developing teams
- Experience with food & beverage, banquets, catering, conferences, or events
- A strong understanding of personalized luxury service and VIP hospitality
- Polished executive presence and excellent communication skills
- Comfort interacting with executives, VIPs, families, speakers, entertainers, and community leaders
- A leadership style centered on service, professionalism, accountability, respect, and team development
- Willingness to relocate to and become part of the High Point community
Experience within boutique hotels, luxury resorts, private clubs, executive conference centers, university hospitality, VIP environments, or renovation projects is especially attractive.
Compensation & Benefits
- $130,000–$135,000 base salary
- 17% annual bonus potential
- Comprehensive health and retirement benefits
- Paid time off
- Relocation assistance may be available
- Predominantly Monday–Friday leadership schedule
- More predictable operating rhythm based around the university calendar
Candidates slightly above the stated salary range may still be considered when their luxury hospitality experience and leadership background strongly align with the opportunity.
