Chef de Cuisine – New Orleans

We are seeking a Chef de Cuisine to lead the day-to-day kitchen operations while maintaining the high standards and culinary identity of the restaurant.

Chef de Cuisine Responsibilities

• Lead the daily culinary operations of the restaurant, ensuring consistent execution, quality, presentation, and timing.
• Manage, train, mentor, and develop the culinary team while creating a professional and accountable kitchen culture.
• Work closely with the Executive Chef and restaurant leadership on menu execution, specials, culinary standards, and kitchen systems.
• Oversee food ordering, inventory, receiving, food cost, waste control, and proper product utilization.
• Maintain appropriate labor levels and effectively manage kitchen scheduling and productivity.
• Ensure all food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and health department standards are consistently followed.
• Maintain high standards for mise en place, preparation, plating, recipes, and overall consistency.
• Lead by example during service and remain hands-on in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Help develop and retain a strong culinary team through training, communication, accountability, and mentorship.

Chef de Cuisine Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of progressive culinary leadership experience, with experience as a Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, or similar leadership position.
• Proven experience leading a professional kitchen in a high-volume, quality-driven restaurant.
• Strong understanding of food cost, labor management, ordering, inventory, and kitchen operations.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to develop and motivate culinary professionals.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities during busy service periods.
• High standards for food quality, consistency, cleanliness, and hospitality.
• Fine dining, upscale-casual, chef-driven, or award-winning restaurant experience is highly preferred.
• Culinary degree or formal culinary training is a plus, but experience and leadership ability are more important.
