Logistics Coordinator
Seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee inbound and outbound transportation for a scrap metal/recycling operation. This role manages truck and rail shipments, supervises company and subcontracted drivers, coordinates fleet maintenance, and ensures transportation compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate inbound pickups and outbound shipments of ferrous and non-ferrous materials
- Manage truck and rail transportation schedules
- Supervise company drivers and subcontracted drivers
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs for trucks, trailers, equipment, and tires
- Maintain DOT, DMV, FMCSA, IFTA, and other required transportation documentation
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable safety regulations
- Monitor shipment schedules and operational needs
- Communicate effectively with drivers, operations, maintenance, and leadership
- Assist with load covering and securing as needed
Qualifications
- Transportation, logistics, or fleet management experience
- Experience supervising drivers
- Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities
- Experience in scrap metal, recycling, trucking, or industrial operations preferred
- Class A CDL preferred
- Valid Medical Card preferred
- Ability to work evenings or weekends and be on call when necessary
