We are seeking an experienced Sr. Manager of Procurement to lead strategic and tactical procurement for a manufacturing operation. This role will oversee supplier relationships, strategic sourcing, cost optimization, material availability, and purchasing processes while developing a high-performing procurement team.

The ideal candidate has strong manufacturing purchasing experience, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven ability to improve supplier performance, reduce lead times, control costs, and drive continuous improvement.

Sr. Manager of Procurement Responsibilities:

  • Lead purchasing and procurement activities for direct and indirect materials.
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier partnerships.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, terms, and supplier agreements.
  • Monitor supplier performance, quality, delivery, lead times, and cost.
  • Ensure continuity of supply and proactively identify and mitigate procurement risks.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Production, and Sales on new products and engineering changes.
  • Develop and improve purchasing policies, processes, KPIs, and best practices.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to maintain accurate purchasing data and improve procurement efficiency.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the purchasing team.
  • Drive Lean and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the procurement function.

Sr. Manager of Procurement Qualifications:

  • 7–10 years of purchasing/procurement experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably machining, fabrication, or assembly.
  • 5+ years of purchasing leadership experience.
  • Proven experience with strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing procurement and supplier management.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems; Traverse preferred.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive accountability, improve processes, and deliver measurable results.
