$28–$35.50/hour | First Shift | Company-Paid Employee Health Insurance

Do you prefer building precision parts from raw material instead of loading a machine and pressing a button?

We’re looking for an experienced Tool Maker/Machinist to manufacture low-volume, high-precision components, prototypes, fixtures, and tooling for automation and aerospace applications. This first-shift opportunity is ideal for a well-rounded machinist who can read a print, determine the best machining approach, and independently take a part from concept to completion.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $28–$35.50/hour, based on experience
  • First-shift schedule
  • Employee health insurance fully covered by the company
  • HSA health plan option
  • 401(k) with company-funded profit sharing
  • Up to four weeks of PTO
  • Seven personal or sick days
  • Company-paid life insurance
  • Short- and long-term disability coverage

What You’ll Do

  • Manufacture machine components, prototypes, fixtures, tooling, and aerospace parts
  • Operate CNC knee mills, lathes, surface grinders, and other machine-shop equipment
  • Program, set up, and run your own work
  • Fabricate parts and assemblies from raw material
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, job orders, and GD&T callouts
  • Machine low-quantity parts to tolerances of ±0.0005 inch or tighter
  • Inspect completed parts using precision measuring equipment
  • Adjust machine settings, tooling, and processes to maintain accuracy and quality
  • Assemble fixtures, tooling, and mechanical components
  • Collaborate with engineers and other machinists to solve manufacturing challenges
  • Perform routine machine maintenance

Required Qualifications

  • At least five years of practical machining or tool-making experience
  • Strong experience operating knee mills, lathes, and surface grinders
  • Ability to independently program, set up, and operate machine-shop equipment
  • Experience producing parts from raw material through final inspection
  • Ability to read and interpret complex prints and GD&T
  • Proven ability to hold tolerances of ±0.0005 inch or tighter
  • Experience using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, and related inspection equipment
  • Must provide personal tools and measuring equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Self-directed and capable of working with limited supervision
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, organization, and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with engineers and machinists

Preferred Experience

  • Conversational machine programming
  • Machining steel, stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, and exotic aerospace materials
  • Welding, fabrication, and mechanical assembly
  • Automation equipment or machine-building experience

If you’re the person coworkers call when a difficult print, tight tolerance, or one-off part lands in the shop, this role should feel right at home.
