Senior Real Estate Paralegal Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of direct legal or paralegal experience supporting sophisticated commercial real estate transactions
- Significant, hands-on experience reviewing title commitments, title policies, exceptions, encumbrances, and ALTA/NSPS surveys
- Direct experience with commercial real estate zoning analysis and compliance
- Experience supporting secured commercial real estate finance transactions such as loan originations, modifications, payoffs, and property releases
- Knowledge of complex commercial real estate ownership structures, including joint ventures, ground leases, REAs, TICs, and condominiums
- Proven experience reviewing commercial leases, tenant estoppel certificates, and SNDAs
- Experience coordinating transactions with attorneys, lenders, lender counsel, title companies, surveyors, tenants, and internal business stakeholders
- Paralegal Certificate, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree required
- Strong Microsoft Office, Teams, and SharePoint skills
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple, complex transactions simultaneously
Senior Real Estate Paralegal Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience supporting institutional commercial real estate, REITs, real estate developers/owners, or large commercial property portfolios
- Background in retail, mixed-use, or complex commercial property environments
- Familiarity with sophisticated joint venture and entity structures
Senior Real Estate Paralegal Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Support attorneys and business teams through secured commercial real estate debt transactions, including originations, refinancings, modifications, and payoffs
- Review, analyze, and resolve title and survey matters in coordination with title insurers, surveyors, attorneys, and transaction parties
- Coordinate transaction timelines, documentation, closing requirements, and signatures
- Review zoning reports, compliance issues, and coordinate resolutions with property management teams
- Prepare, manage, and track tenant estoppel certificates and related commercial lease documentation
- Maintain organized transaction files, reports, and pipeline information using SharePoint and related systems
- Support Know Your Customer (KYC), compliance, and lender reporting requirements
- Independently prioritize and manage multiple ongoing transactions and deadlines with a high level of accuracy
