Corporate Accountant – Macon, GA

A structured and well-established manufacturer is seeking a knowledgeable Corporate Accountant to join its disciplined, collaborative Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who wants to take ownership of monthly financial reporting and internal controls, while growing their skills in a supportive environment.

Corporate Accountant Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • 5+ years of professional accounting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting
  • Proficiency in account reconciliation and month-end close processes
  • Experience executing and documenting internal controls over financial reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status with current authorization to work in the United States

Corporate Accountant Preferred Background & Skills

  • CPA credential preferred
  • Experience with a publicly traded company is a plus

Corporate Accountant Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries after gathering and evaluating source information for accuracy and completeness
  • Perform month-end close procedures and support the production of accurate, timely financial records
  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations and supporting analyses; investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare financial and management reports that support business decision making across the organization
  • Execute and document internal controls over financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policy
  • Assist with coordination of internal and external audits, ensuring timely delivery of all requested audit support
  • Collaborate with Finance and cross-functional teams to provide reliable financial information and responsive service
