This is an opportunity for a hands-on hospitality leader who enjoys being visible, developing teams, and helping operate a unique, high-volume guest destination. The Assistant General Manager will partner closely with the General Manager to lead daily operations, maintain strong hospitality and safety standards, and create memorable experiences for guests and employees.

This is not a traditional desk-based management position. The right candidate will be comfortable leading throughout a large indoor and outdoor property while supporting multiple operating areas and seasonal programs.

  • Performance-based bonus opportunity
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Employee discounts
  • Full-time, year-round employment
  • Advancement opportunities within a growing organization

Assistant General Manager Responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager in overseeing daily operations across attractions, food and beverage, retail, events, and seasonal programming
  • Serve as manager on duty and maintain a visible leadership presence throughout the property
  • Lead, coach, and develop frontline employees and supervisors
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management
  • Ensure operating areas are properly staffed, organized, safe, clean, and guest-ready
  • Monitor labor, expenses, guest-flow needs, and daily operational performance
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams regarding maintenance, equipment, supplies, and operational priorities
  • Conduct routine property walk-throughs and address safety or maintenance concerns
  • Support the development and implementation of operating procedures, training materials, and seasonal playbooks
  • Help execute festivals, events, attractions, and other high-volume seasonal programs
  • Support business development, operational planning, recruiting, and process improvement during the property’s winter public closure

Assistant General Manager Qualifications

  • 2–4+ years of progressive leadership experience in agritourism, hospitality, food and beverage, retail, entertainment, attractions, events, resorts, or another high-volume guest-facing operation
  • Experience leading teams in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment
  • Strong hands-on leadership style with a genuine commitment to guest service
  • Experience with scheduling, labor management, hiring, training, and daily operational controls
  • Organized and adaptable, with the ability to manage several priorities simultaneously
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in changing weather conditions
  • Able to regularly walk a large property, navigate stairs and uneven terrain, and lift up to 45 pounds
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and seasonal peak periods
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, reliable transportation, and full-time on-site availability

Preferred Experience

Experience with theme parks, amusement parks, destination attractions, family entertainment venues, agritourism operations, event venues, or resort properties with significant restaurant and food-and-beverage operations is especially valuable.

The successful candidate will be approachable, accountable, safety-conscious, guest-focused, and comfortable bringing structure and consistency to an authentic, community-oriented environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a distinctive destination hospitality operation and play an important role in its continued growth.
