Restaurant Manager / General Manager

An established international restaurant company is opening its first U.S. location in the heart of Times Square. This exciting Hong Kong-style quick-service concept is seeking a hands-on Restaurant Manager/General Manager to build the opening team, establish the restaurant’s culture and operating standards, and play an important role in the company’s future U.S. expansion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead pre-opening preparation, team building, training and opening-readiness activities.
  • Recruit, onboard, schedule, train and develop approximately 15 full-time and part-time employees.
  • Oversee daily restaurant operations during operating hours of 11:00 a.m. to midnight.
  • Maintain high standards for guest service, speed, food quality, cleanliness and product consistency.
  • Manage sales, labor costs, controllable expenses and overall restaurant profitability.
  • Build effective schedules based on projected sales, delivery demand and peak Times Square traffic.
  • Oversee online ordering and third-party delivery platforms, including Uber Eats, DoorDash and Grubhub.
  • Develop catering, group-order and local-store sales opportunities.
  • Partner with the Kitchen Manager to maintain food quality, ticket times, inventory accuracy and food-safety standards.
  • Manage POS operations, cash controls, daily reporting and restaurant performance data.
  • Ensure compliance with NYC employment, food-service, sanitation and workplace-safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • At least five years of progressive restaurant-management experience.
  • Current or recent experience as a General Manager, Restaurant Manager or strong Assistant General Manager.
  • Experience leading a complete restaurant operation in QSR, fast casual or high-volume casual dining.
  • Proven success recruiting, scheduling, training and developing restaurant employees.
  • Working knowledge of restaurant sales, labor management, inventory, operating costs and profitability.
  • Experience managing online ordering and third-party delivery platforms.
  • Strong guest-service, food-safety, sanitation and operational standards.
  • Comfortable using POS systems, restaurant reporting tools and basic business software.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • New restaurant opening or pre-opening experience.
  • Times Square, Midtown Manhattan or high-traffic urban restaurant experience.
  • Chinese, Hong Kong-style or broader Asian restaurant experience.
  • Toast POS experience.
  • Catering or local-store sales experience.
  • Cantonese or Mandarin language skills.
