Executive Sous Chef Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of culinary management experience in a high-volume, full-service hotel
- Experience overseeing both restaurant and banquet culinary operations
- Previous experience supervising culinary managers and large kitchen teams
- Proven leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Strong financial acumen including food cost, labor management, payroll, and budgeting
- Strong knowledge of purchasing, inventory, receiving, and cost controls
- ServSafe Food Manager Certification required
- Culinary degree preferred
- Union experience preferred
- Strong computer proficiency and administrative skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events
Executive Sous Chef Preferred Background & Skills
- Luxury hotel or Four/Five Diamond culinary experience
- Multi-outlet culinary leadership
- High-volume banquet production
- Fine dining restaurant experience
- Menu development and seasonal programming
- Strong P&L and financial management experience
- Experience managing payroll, scheduling, and labor controls
- Collaborative leadership style with excellent communication skills
- Stable career progression with strong tenure
