An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced General Manager to lead the front-of-house operations of a highly anticipated fine dining restaurant opening in Connecticut. As the Opening General Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in building the restaurant from the ground up, establishing service standards, developing a best-in-class front-of-house team, and creating an exceptional guest experience while helping shape the culture and long-term success of one of Greenwich's premier dining destinations.

General Manager Responsibilities
- Lead all front-of-house operations, ensuring exceptional service during every shift.
- Oversee reservations, table management, pacing, and overall dining room flow.
- Partner closely with the Executive Chef to ensure seamless communication and service execution between the kitchen and front of house.
- Lead engaging pre-shift meetings that prepare, educate, and motivate the team for service.
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop an outstanding front-of-house team, including managers, servers, hosts, sommeliers, and support staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous development.
- Create and maintain training materials and service standards for all front-of-house roles.
- Manage front-of-house labor, scheduling, and operational budgets.
- Monitor financial performance, labor costs, and revenue goals while maintaining exceptional guest service.
- Oversee private dining and special events from inquiry through execution.
- Build relationships within the local community, including event planners, concierge teams, and corporate partners.
- Support and oversee the restaurant's beverage and wine program while ensuring the team can confidently guide guest selections.
- Represent the restaurant with professionalism while helping establish its reputation within the Greenwich dining community.
General Manager Qualifications
- 5+ years of senior front-of-house leadership experience in fine dining or upscale hospitality.
- Proven success hiring, leading, coaching, and developing high-performing service teams.
- Strong understanding of restaurant financials, including P&L management, labor controls, and revenue performance.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and guest relationship skills.
- Strong wine knowledge; Sommelier certification (CMS, WSET, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Experience with reservation platforms such as SevenRooms, Resy, or similar.
- Experience with POS systems including Toast, Aloha, or equivalent.
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and solutions-focused in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
