Lead Extraordinary Experiences Beyond Traditional Hospitality
We are seeking an innovative Director of Events & Activations to lead the planning and execution of premium hospitality experiences for a flagship campus in Gaithersburg, Maryland. This is not a traditional event management position. We're looking for a hospitality leader who thrives on creating memorable experiences—whether that's producing executive events on campus, transforming unique spaces into unforgettable venues, or coordinating off-site activations at parks, museums, theaters, community venues, and other unconventional locations. What You'll Do
As the Director of Events & Activations, you'll lead the strategy, planning, and flawless execution of high-profile events while serving as a trusted advisor to internal clients and stakeholders. You'll be responsible for creating exceptional guest experiences that reflect our premium standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all aspects of event planning and activation strategy for a premier corporate campus.
- Build trusted relationships with internal clients and executive stakeholders.
- Lead the planning and execution of upscale corporate events, receptions, meetings, and special activations.
- Develop creative off-site experiences utilizing parks, museums, theaters, entertainment venues, community spaces, and other unique locations.
- Partner with culinary, catering, audiovisual, facilities, and operations teams to deliver seamless events.
- Manage event budgets, timelines, logistics, and vendor relationships.
- Ensure every event reflects luxury hospitality standards and exceeds client expectations.
- Identify new event concepts and innovative programming that enhance the overall campus experience.
- Analyze guest feedback and continuously improve the event experience.
- Mentor and develop an events team while fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and hospitality excellence.

Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in hospitality, event management, catering, conference services, or experiential events.
- Experience managing high-profile clients and VIP events.
- Proven ability to execute multiple large-scale events simultaneously.
- Strong budgeting, vendor management, and operational planning experience.
- Exceptional client relationship and communication skills.
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop unique event concepts.
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Comfortable working both on-site and off-site while managing complex event logistics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and event management software.
