Senior Cost Accountant

Senior Cost Accountant Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Senior Cost Accountant Preferred Background & Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and large ERP system is required (SAP, Great Plains, Intacct, NetSuite or Epicor)
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
- Attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture
- Team-oriented mindset
Senior Cost Accountant Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Complete month-end close processes, including reviewing general ledger accounts and reconciliations
- Coordinate and oversee month-end physical inventory counts
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports and analysis to plant management
- Assist with the annual budgeting process and the facility’s annual budget preparation
- Support variance analysis compared to prior periods, forecasts, and budgets, providing commentary and insight
- Prepare recurring monthly general ledger journal entries and assist in inventory standards updates
- Collaborate with management on ad hoc projects and support year-end audit coordination
- Analyze monthly financial statements and KPIs, preparing standard schedules for management review
