Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control leadership within manufacturing
- Experience managing quality systems in highly regulated manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Section III and ISO 9001
- Experience leading internal and external audits
- Proven experience supervising quality teams
- US Citizenship required
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred)
- Nuclear manufacturing experience is a strong plus
Must Haves
- Lead all plant quality activities including compliance, reporting, audits, and customer quality initiatives
- Chair Material Review Board (MRB) meetings and resolve production quality issues
- Drive root cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions
- Develop quality metrics, KPIs, and Cost of Non-Quality (CONQ) reporting
- Partner with manufacturing leadership to improve processes and reduce rework
- Interface directly with customers, inspectors, auditors, and regulatory agencies
- Oversee non-conforming material processes, RGA investigations, and quality documentation
- Mentor, train, and develop unionized QC inspectors and documentation staff
- Support customer witness testing, inspections, NDT, painting, and final acceptance activities
Preferred Background & Skills
- Nuclear manufacturing or nuclear safety culture experience
- Valve, pressure vessel, heavy industrial, aerospace, defense, or power generation manufacturing
- Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience
- Strong leadership in union manufacturing environments
- Excellent communication, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to balance customer expectations with production priorities
