Cafe General Manager Benefits & Compensation

  • Competitive base salary ($70,000–$85,000)

Cafe General Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience managing and leading single-store unit operations in hospitality or food & beverage
  • Ability to work full-time (45 hours/week), including at least 2 peak days (typically Friday–Sunday)
  • Proven ability to build, train, and motivate high-performing teams
  • Experience with inventory management, labor scheduling, and POS systems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and compliance

Cafe General Manager Preferred Background & Skills

  • Specialty coffee or café environment experience
  • Familiarity with labor management and back-of-house reporting tools
  • Passion for customer service and product quality

Cafe General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and develop a motivated team to deliver outstanding service
  • Create, publish, and manage staff schedules and payroll coordination
  • Oversee inventory management, vendor relations, and ordering
  • Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance
  • Ensure high product quality, consistency, and technical accuracy in beverage and food preparation
  • Address guest concerns with empathy and professionalism, gathering feedback to improve service
  • Drive team engagement and foster strong ties within the local community
  • Monitor financial performance, grow sales, and champion creative initiatives
