Cafe General Manager Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of general manager experience in a full-service restaurant or cafe
Proven track record of achieving KPIs, managing P&L, budgeting, and forecasting
DOH Accreditation and/or ServSafe Certification
Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional service
Strong financial acumen and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
Coaching and mentoring skills to develop hourly team members
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs

Cafe General Manager Preferred Background & Skills

Experience fostering team development through regular feedback and performance reviews
Community engagement experience

Cafe General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Oversee daily cafe operations, ensuring smooth workflow and exceptional guest experiences
Set a positive tone, inspire your team, and reinforce quality assurance standards
Build genuine guest relationships, promoting regular visits and a welcoming atmosphere
Manage sales, cost of goods, and labor targets to drive store profitability
Lead by example in health and safety practices, ensuring ServSafe compliance
Engage with the local community to fulfill the company’s mission in your neighborhood
Encourage growth within your team through coaching and performance reviews
