Cafe General Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of general manager experience in a full-service restaurant or cafe
- Proven track record of achieving KPIs, managing P&L, budgeting, and forecasting
- DOH Accreditation and/or ServSafe Certification
- Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional service
- Strong financial acumen and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Coaching and mentoring skills to develop hourly team members
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
Cafe General Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience fostering team development through regular feedback and performance reviews
- Community engagement experience
Cafe General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Oversee daily cafe operations, ensuring smooth workflow and exceptional guest experiences
- Set a positive tone, inspire your team, and reinforce quality assurance standards
- Build genuine guest relationships, promoting regular visits and a welcoming atmosphere
- Manage sales, cost of goods, and labor targets to drive store profitability
- Lead by example in health and safety practices, ensuring ServSafe compliance
- Engage with the local community to fulfill the company’s mission in your neighborhood
- Encourage growth within your team through coaching and performance reviews
