Business Development Manager – Industrial Automation & Controls
Ground Floor Opportunity | Build a High-Growth Division | $200K+ OTE
Location: Nashville, TN
Our client is a rapidly growing industrial automation and systems integration company launching the next phase of expansion. Backed by a strong technical delivery team and an established reputation for execution, they're seeking their first dedicated Business Development Manager to help drive growth across manufacturing, utilities, industrial operations, and infrastructure markets.
This is not a maintenance-account role.
This is an opportunity to help build a division, create new client relationships, influence growth strategy, and participate directly in the expansion of a well-funded organization positioned for long-term success.

What You'll Do
- Develop new business opportunities across manufacturing, industrial, utility, and infrastructure markets
- Build relationships with plant managers, operations leaders, engineers, maintenance managers, and executive stakeholders
- Generate opportunities through networking, referrals, industry contacts, and proactive outreach
- Manage opportunities from prospecting through project award
- Partner with engineering and technical teams to develop customer-focused solutions
- Expand market presence and establish long-term client relationships
- Help drive revenue growth for a rapidly expanding automation business
What We're Looking For
- Experience selling industrial automation, controls, integration services, technical solutions, or industrial technology
- Understanding of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, controls platforms, or automation environments
- Proven track record of business development and relationship management
- Ability to communicate with both technical and operational stakeholders
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently
- Strong consultative sales skills
Preferred Experience
- Ignition platform exposure
- Controls integration or automation project experience
- Existing manufacturing, industrial, or utility relationships
- Experience selling project-based technical solutions
- Background working with engineers, operations teams, or plant leadership
Compensation
- Base Salary: $90,000 – $110,000
- Uncapped Commission Structure
- On-Target Earnings: $200,000+
