ACT Program Manager – Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)

💰 Salary: $85,000 – $103,000 + $3,000 Sign-On Bonus

📅 Schedule: 4 Days per Week | 36-Hour Work Week

About the Opportunity

A Non Profit provider for behavioral health is seeking an experienced and mission-driven ACT Program Manager to lead a multidisciplinary Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team serving adults living with serious mental illness.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a licensed clinician or psychiatric RN who believes recovery is possible and understands the importance of delivering high-quality community-based behavioral health services with compassion, accountability, and clinical excellence.

The Program Manager will oversee daily operations, staff development, crisis response, scheduling, compliance, and direct client care while ensuring fidelity to the SAMHSA ACT model.

This is not a desk-only management role — leaders are expected to work alongside their teams in the field and provide direct support to clients.


Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary ACT team of therapists, nurses, case managers, peer specialists, and psychiatric providers
  • Provide clinical supervision, coaching, and ongoing staff development
  • Facilitate daily team meetings and care coordination
  • Develop and manage team schedules, including evening/weekend coverage and on-call rotations
  • Foster a positive, accountable, recovery-oriented culture

Direct Client Services

  • Spend approximately 50% of time providing direct face-to-face services
  • Conduct assessments, clinical interviews, and crisis interventions
  • Coordinate care for individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, and related conditions
  • Ensure ACT recipients receive required service frequency and intensity
  • Support housing stability, engagement, and recovery outcomes

Compliance & Operations

  • Ensure compliance with SAMHSA ACT fidelity standards
  • Monitor documentation, billing accuracy, utilization, and quality metrics
  • Participate in audits, accreditation activities, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with community partners and behavioral health organizations
  • Track key performance indicators including hospitalization reduction and client engagement

Qualifications

Required

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related behavioral health field
  • OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with behavioral health experience
  • Current professional licensure in the State of Utah
  • Minimum:
    • 3+ years post-licensure experience for clinicians
    • 4+ years serving adults with serious mental illness for RNs
  • Experience supervising teams in behavioral health, psychiatric, or crisis settings
  • Strong knowledge of DSM-5-TR diagnosis and treatment
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
  • CPR Certification

Preferred

  • ACT Team experience
  • RN-BC Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing certification
  • Knowledge of SAMHSA ACT fidelity model
  • Experience with Medicaid/Medicare behavioral health compliance
  • Experience managing crisis response and community-based care programs

Compensation & Benefits

  • $85,000 – $103,000 annual salary
  • $3,000 sign-on bonus
