$75,000 – $110k Base Salary + Performance-Based Commission + Company Vehicle / Allowance

Position Overview

A growing construction labor services provider is seeking a driven and results-oriented Sales Manager to lead business development efforts and support long-term revenue growth. This individual will play a key role in expanding market share, developing strategic client relationships, and contributing directly to company profitability.

This position is ideal for a “hunter” sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is motivated by building new business, strengthening client partnerships, and delivering measurable results.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Southern California construction market
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with company growth objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, project stakeholders, and decision-makers
  • Conduct regular field visits to jobsites and client offices to generate and maintain business
  • Expand client base in key growth regions, including San Diego and Riverside Counties
  • Negotiate contracts, service agreements, and pricing while maintaining profitability targets
  • Prepare and deliver proposals, presentations, and bid packages
  • Track pipeline activity, sales metrics, and ROI to ensure performance targets are met
  • Collaborate with operations and recruiting teams to ensure successful project execution
  • Stay informed on labor market trends, pricing strategies, and competitive positioning

Estimating & Proposals

  • Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate proposals
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary estimating inputs
  • Analyze labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs to ensure competitive pricing
  • Prepare and submit RFPs, ITBs, and bid packages within required timelines
  • Evaluate project performance against estimates to improve future pricing accuracy
  • Ensure all proposals align with operational capabilities and profitability goals

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of sales experience within construction, staffing, equipment rental, or labor services
  • Proven ability to generate new business and consistently meet or exceed sales targets
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, labor pricing, and project costs
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Experience preparing estimates and pricing proposals
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and sales tracking tools
  • Ability to analyze performance metrics and generate reports
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and accountable

Additional Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Knowledge of construction safety standards and industry regulations
  • Experience with contract management or procurement processes preferred
