Director, Childcare Center – Colorado

Childcare Center Director Requirements & Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Business, or related field preferred
  • Large Center Director qualification
  • Minimum 7 years of leadership experience in a childcare, preschool, or early education setting
  • Colorado Shines PDIS Level 3 credential/training, including the ability to assist in the infant room
  • Strong understanding of Colorado state childcare licensing regulations
  • Experience managing teams, staffing, and daily center operations
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • CPR/First Aid Certification required or the ability to obtain
  • Must be able to pass all required background checks per Colorado state childcare licensing

  • Maintain full compliance with all state licensing and safety regulations
  • Cultivate strong relationships and trust with parents and families
  • Drive enrollment growth and retention, partnering with leadership on center strategy
  • Support budgeting, payroll, hiring, onboarding, and team performance
