Senior Electrical Estimator
Location: Charlotte, NC, Indianapolis, IN or Denver, CO
Employment Type: Full-Time
Sign-on bonus of $10k-$20k
Relocation Assistance: Available for qualified candidates open to relocation
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join a growing electrical design-build team. This role is responsible for reviewing construction documents, preparing accurate material and labor estimates, developing proposals and change orders, and supporting the transition of awarded work to project management. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, highly analytical, and comfortable working on complex commercial and industrial electrical projects.

Responsibilities
- Prepare, revise, and present estimates, proposals, and change orders for current and prospective projects.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and data sheets to develop accurate bids.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for assigned projects.
- Oversee takeoffs for team-led bids.
- Work closely with business development and project management to ensure bids are accurate and complete.
- Request and evaluate material and equipment pricing from vendors and suppliers.
- Review supplier quotations for accuracy and compliance with bid requirements.
- Identify project cost trends and recommend improvements to reduce costs and improve estimating processes.
- Manage handoff from estimating to project management after project award.
- Lead design-build bids, including identifying project unknowns and clarifying ambiguities in the documents.
- Train and support new estimators on department procedures and best practices.
- Follow up regularly on pending bids and maintain communication throughout the estimating process.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of electrical estimating experience.
- Background in large commercial, industrial, or water treatment projects preferred.
- Working knowledge of estimating software such as Accubid.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an Electrical Journeyman’s License.
- Strong understanding of electrical theory and the National Electrical Code.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with electrical equipment layout and design-build concepts, including one-lines and feeder/branch circuit analysis.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, organization, and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to team success.
- Willingness to travel on a limited scheduled or unscheduled basis.
